Get a wealth of travel information about Singapore at http://www.yoursingapore.com, the Singapore Tourism Board website for travellers and visitors and http://app.www.sg, the official gateway to Singapore. Here are some essential information:
Visas & Entry Requirements
Most foreigners do not require visas for entry into Singapore upon their arrival in Singapore. There are of course exceptions and international delegates are advised to check with their local consulate office to confirm entry requirements. Delegates can also check visa requirements and application procedures online via the Immigration and Checkpoints Authority (IC) website.
Customs & Taxes
Singapore imposes hefty penalties for certain customs offences and pleas of ignorance are seldom entertained. Customs guides in English and Chinese are available online. Do read them for items that are prohibited or attract duties.
Singapore has a tourist refund scheme. Visit this site to see how to qualify and how to make claims.
Airport Transfer
Most travellers arrive in Singapore by air. Changi International Airport is one of the busiest airports in the world with 4 terminals including the budget terminal. It is also well connected to the rest of South east Asia.
Although there is a train service at the airport, we recommend taking a taxi to your hotel. Fares are quite reasonable. Calculate your taxi fare with this taxi fare calculator.

Flag down rates range from S$2.80 to S$5.00 depending on the type of taxi. Surcharges and booking fees may apply. See the online taxi fare calculator.

Tourist maps can be collected at the Changi International Airport. For delegates who are curious about the location of the conference venue, try finding it at Street Directory Singapore. Type “Nanyang Executive Centre” into the search box and click on the magnifying glass icon.
