Call for Papers 
Objectives

ASAIHL Conference on Education Innovation for the Knowledge-based Economy: Curriculum, Pedagogy and Technology will provide a platform for government officials, university leaders, industry partners and practitioners to discuss, share and exchange of ideas and practices on introducing undergraduate curriculum that puts learning within and beyond the curriculum at its core, approaches focusing on supporting how students learn and providing them with opportunities  to develop  skills that will enable them  to face the challenges of the 21st  century with optimism and confidence.

Main Theme & Sub-Themes

The theme of the conference is “Education Innovation for the Knowledge-based Economy: Curriculum, Pedagogy and Technology”. 

The Conference will also cover the following sub-themes: 
  • Curriculum Innovation: internationalization of Curriculum; developing global citizenship; innovation models 
  • Pedagogical Innovation: teaching for transfer and higher order thinking skills; assessment methods 
  • Technology Innovation in Education: e-learning and online learning; global classroom 
Important Dates

Abstract Submission : 15 July 2014 {Extended to 15 August 2014} 
Notification of Paper Acceptance : 1 August 2014 {1 September 2014}
Full Paper Submission : 1 September 2014 {1 October 2014}


Presentation Sessions

Oral presentation in three different sessions:
  • Sessions of Keynote Speakers
  • Country Reports
  • Parallel Sessions
Presented Papers
  • Two papers of two keynote speakers
  • Country report for each sub-theme from each member country of ASAIHL. Every country paper should get endorsement from its National Coordinator of ASAIHL.
  • Participants, including the students, would present according to the sub-themes during the parallel sessions.

Format

  • Country Reports:
    Country reports should have a maximum of 10 pages including an abstract focusing on the theme of the conference (Specifications: A4 with 1-inch margins, Times New Roman 12 font, and 1.5 space).
  • Abstract:
    The abstract should include a title, the name, the address and the e-mail of the first author, an abstract of not more than 200 words and five keywords (Specifications: A4 with 1-inch margins, Calibri 12 font, and 1.5 space). Abstract can be submitted through the submission form on this page or you may email your abstract to: ASAIHL2014@ntu.edu.sg.
  • Full Papers
    Full papers should have a maximum of 8 pages including graphs and figures (Specifications: A4 with 1-inch margins, Times New Roman 12 font, and 1.5 space). The submission should include the title, the author, the organization, the abstract, the keywords, the main text and the references. Full papers should be submitted through email to: ASAIHL2014@ntu.edu.sg.

Delivery

  • Country Reports:
    25 minutes per presenter (including Q&A). Please also submit a brief CV and picture of the speaker after notification of Paper Acceptance.
  • Full Papers:
    15 minutes presentation (including Q&A). Please also submit a brief CV and picture of the speaker after notification of Paper Acceptance.
